This winter has not been extremely cold in the US, it truly has been a very mild winter. That is good news but if you are like me I am tired of winter time and having to stay in the house. I was trying to think of somewhere to go, to get away from it all, for a while and Hawaii came to mind. Hawaii is beautiful anytime of the year with its clear blue water, warm sandy beaches and festivity everywhere.

I started searching online for places to go in Hawaii and Kauai looked like fun. Kauai is extremely picturesque with its soaring cliffs, beautiful waterfalls and heavenly beaches. It is a place you can truly spend a week or even a month and not get tired of. It is not a place of tall skyscraper motels, hotels or buildings. It is a very laid back atmosphere which is inviting for the weary traveler. I ran across Puu Poa, a vacation condo complex, which looks like a nice place to stay. Another type of food you can raise at home is poultry. Raising your own backyard chickens can be fun as well as providing an egg and meat source. You can find hens for sale online inexpensively and some companies have a very small minimum order quantity of just two or three chickens. Recently my father-in-law had colon cancer surgery. He had not been to a doctor in approximately 30 years. He had always been healthy and did not take any type medication. It’s a little funny how when I talk about my kids, I’m referring to my twenty something grown children. But I guess that it’s just a habit to keep on calling them your kids no matter what. When they were younger, it used to be like pulling teeth to get them to go to museums or go and see plays. But now they suggest going and doing that stuff all of the time. p>

My daughter let me know a while back that Billy Elliot was going to be touring near us, so we decided that the three of us would go. I am sure most people have heard of Walgreens pharmacies. Express Scripts, a medical insurance network provider has decided it will no longer pay for prescriptions filled by Walgreens pharmacies nationwide as well as Duane Reade pharmacies in the New York City area. If you have Express Scripts medical insurance then this news could be very inconvenient and troublesome to you. Walgreens and Express Scripts have had a contract up until December 31, 2011. Walgreens tried to negotiate with Express Scripts but failed. As of January 1, 2012 Express Scripts will no longer pay for prescriptions filled at Walgreens pharmacies.

Walgreens wants to ease the burden for their customers while keeping them shopping at their pharmacies. They have extended a special discount on the annual membership for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. Now for only $10 per year a family can join the club and enjoy the savings. The membership covers the immediate family including the spouse, dependents 22 years of age and under and their pets. If you do not need a family plan individuals may join for only $5.

Joining the Walgreens club will allow you to receive discounted prices as well as savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications, discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. My job transferred me to New York last year, and my family was really bummed that we had to leave our home in Atlanta. I knew we had to go because it was such a great opportunity for me, and I knew the kids would get used to it. When we were choosing a house I looked up New York Electricity Rates so that I could gauge what our expenses would be each month. I found that I could actually shop around for the best rates, which I found really interesting. It’s great how our country is moving towards more choices when it comes to utilities.
